Jiggyfly40 I figured out how to play Ark without Vr. Go to run type in Services.msc. Then scroll down until you find oculus VR Runtime Service. stop the service and set it to start manually. Now you can play ark without it starting Vr. But if you want to play Vr you have to restart the service
Ark runs very poorly in VR. At-least it did at the time this thread was posted *july 14, 2017*. So I disabled it. Now if its taking forever to load in vr I honestly couldn't tell you how to fix it as I did not have that problem.
But I would recommend not playing it in VR as it is poorly ported to VR. It doesn't feel like a true VR experience and will lag/make you sick.
-nohmd removes vr compatibility.
LoL Years later people are still having this problem -- Myself included.
