Give other players admin privilege on non-dedicated server
Hello again. I'm looking for a way to give another player admin privileges on a non-ded server. It seems like it should be simple enough - make the admin password, have them type 'enablecheats ****' in their console while connected, but it did not work as expected. I also tried the SteamID64 method by placing a text file into the appropriate spot in the host's game files.

Not sure what we might be doing wrong.

I heard there was a new technology called google.
I used it. It came up with this:
http://ark.gamepedia.com/Console_Commands
They have to type in enablecheats then the password after that. Once that happens they have to type in Cheat (whatever cheat code they are using)

More than likely you're typing in the server password, rather than the server admin password, and thus why you're failing. Please try to be thorough when looking at the setup and executing the commands, and I bet you'll be successful.

If it's a non dedicated server. You type in enablecheat password. Not enablecheats. Enablecheats is for dedicated servers multiplayer. The added s is for dedicated multiplayer server commands

Thank you, this simple oversight could have been the issue.

Why not use the Admin Whitelist text file? I am pretty sure that works for dedicated and non-dedicated servers. But big question is why don;t you run a dedicated server instead of a non-dedicated? They will both use up about the same amount of resources but the dedicated will not have a tether distance.

guys your friend just needs to type "enablecheats ,password," into console
and after that use "admincheat ,command,"
i hope you get what i mean instead of password you have to actually type in the password and insteaf of "command" you type in the command you like to use

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
