As for forge mods just do a search in the Workshop, maybe ask the Admin if they will add the mod..
- build like a dozen regular forges on it's back
- pre-load the forges with angler gel or spark powder (use wood if you need gunpowder)
- look up how much you need for various metal amounts so you don't waste fuel
- get a very high level anky with stats in weight, melee, and movement
- carry your high level anky to your metal resource areas.
- put your quetz on follow to your anky
- bust metal nodes with the anky till full (drop all non-metal loot).
- transfer the metal to the quetz's forges, and light the forges.
- break more metal nodes with the anky
- rinse & repeat until your quetz is around 70% max weight.
- mount quetz, pick up anky, go home, leave the forges running overnight.
add additional quetz's in daisy chain follow if you need even more hard core ingot gather.
don't bother with an industrial forge, it is faster than regular forges, but you can just let metal cook overnight. Eventually it's worth getting an industrial forge, but early on when you need ingots badly, it's not worth it to spend 2500 metal ingots on something that won't give you 'more' ingots, only cook them faster. And frankly it isn't any faster than a dozen regular forges running at once, plus the ingots you make on location at the resource nodes weigh half as much as the raw metal does (2 metal = 1 ingot) so you can carry somewhat more back each trip by processing it on the go.
Edit: they only spawn naturaly on SE
