They hit THREE times every attack. And each attack probably lasts slightly longer than a Mosa... wait, you can't grab stuff in PvE at all with it? Not even wild stuff?

(On unofficial PVE, you can grab stuff, if it's enabled in the server settings ;) Just as a sidenote)

I think it's worth taming because it looks really friggin cool! They also generate oil in their inventory so you don't have to worry about going out to get oil anymore. Another perk.

In my view it's not worth the time and effort to tame one unless you enjoy the challenge and can't be bothered to get oil yourself. I know I won't be taming one until they revise their solution to carrying on PvE, other than a simple and quick banhammer on all carrying.

Their HP is pretty good. I've tamed a 140 with black pearls and its sitting at 60k HP right now. Theyre also not affected by the knock out caused by Cnidaria's, so its pretty good for the new caves. And I also feel like getting Black Pearls is much quicker than Quetz kibble for a Mosa.

ok, the health on mine may be bit low then, tamed out 18.2k, but i dont have as good a saddle as i do have for mosa, the 3 attcks per hit is very nice though, didnt actually know that, taming them isnt actually that hard with 2 people, i did it with a 16k health turtle, mc saddle, no cakes no stims and it had 5k health left after tame, this was a 110 btw

They're not that hard to tame, really, especially if you have a mount with a good saddle. Just make sure not to swim too close to the ocean floor, they can glitch your mount throught the map, still (at least if your mount happens to be a Mosa).

My Tuso had 41k health, but I still lost it because I accidentally hit a Dunkleosteus with it's huge AOE. It then got swarmed by tens of Dunks and some anglers, couldn't move away anymore, and died. I was so mad. But in the end, it was my fault.

Aren't dunk solitary creatures?

I would try to tame them with Dunkle's since theyre perfectly capable of tanking any attack. Mine has 10k hp and only loses around 600hp for every grab.

Tuso's barely worth the tame on PvE as almost all of their utility is through their grab. But hey, I still tame them purely because they're my favorite creatures on the ARK, even if a Mosa' can do its job better.
I think the only thing I like to use them for specifically, if I'm on a higher rate server, is to farm kairuku's through the icebergs from beneath for their organic polymer (obviously). Kind of amusing, those freaky ground-defying tentacles. Such beauty. Much grace.
... And I guess it's really safe and easy to farm bio-toxin. So not ALL of their utility is gone.

To summarize after a bit of research and other's opinion;

First of all, they have highest DPS( Each attack doing base damage 65 x 3 ) of all water creature, a high level one is capable of taking on a Alpha Mosa(They have insane scaling, so high level alpha Mosa should be hunted with multiple creatures) or Alpha Tusotheutis by itself. Any other creature are toast before it's incredible range + damage + turn radius.

Second, they are immune to wild/alpha Tusotheutis grabs themselves and Cynidaria electricity, making them very efficient deep sea hunter with almost no danger they can't escape from... but this is questionable as things very easily glitch into it and gets it stuck. Using C(ink spray) and spacebar(immediate turn) helps out usually when this happens though.

Given those, I think they are still very powerful mount even without utility, and it's not so hard to tame them if you have the Black Pearls at hand and have Dunkleosteus(Takes only 1/3 of damage) or other high health creatures. If one needed a certain reason to tame one for PvE it would be similar to reason one would tame a Rex in it; for it's immense strength + trophy kind of thing. All that aside, it does still have unique utility as well, and fairly safe from large part of deep sea exploration.

I have an apprentice squid saddle bp :3 also if you dismount the squid while you are being swarmed and swim up with your squid on follow it should clip through all the dinos allowing for an escape :D

But you can put 6 industrial grills on a mosa, or enough chairs for the whole servers

I only had a primitive saddle... sadly. And I did try the dismount + follow, but I was instantly one shot by a level 145 Dunkleosteus, so... no luck there.

The problem was the mass spawning of Dunks on The Center, on The Island this wouldn't have happened. There were like 20 - 25 Dunks in the area.

I'm still donna get a new Tuso, especially now that I know that they're immune to the Cnidaria stun. That is SO useful, you have no idea. The new shocking tranq darts are crazy good, especially in a good rifle, they knock out anything super fast. Even a high level Giga can be knocked out really quickly, solo (!) with a good rifle and shocking tranq darts!
