Structures Plus - How to wire stuff?
Since we have no dedicated modding section I guess this has to go in here.

I downloaded the Structures Plus mod a few hours ago and I'm having a blast. This is how building in Ark should have worked from the beginning. However Iäm at a loss when it comes to the wiring bit of the mod. I have the generator, cables, generator is fuled and running, but noting is connecting to the generator or the power outlets.
I have tried YouTube, Google, Steam guides section, but everyone just kind of gloss over the wiring bit. So how the bleeding Hells do you connect electrical stuff? \o/

There is a dedicated modding section.. Workshop tab..there is a seperate discussion forum in there. Also.. ALL mods have their own comments and discussion area.

Structures plus. You can use the oldfasion wires... or it uses something that lets you make each wall or foundation be wired. Look in the structures plus pages.

Just create the S+ wires and you put them directly into structures like walls and foundations, place your generator on top of one and then simply put your outlet wherever you want.

So I need to put the generator on top of a foundation with an internal cable in it?

I usually hover a vertical cable around inside the generator until you see the green image sort of flick into place, at which point left-click to place it. I slap another vertical cable on top of that, to get the rest of the cable network up at the 2-wall high ceiling I like. Just like normal generator/cable layout.

At a tangent, anyone know how to get an S+ Generator to take over supplying electrical power when the S+ Wind Turbine isn't running? The generator and turbine are on the same network of cables, I select the option to start up if system is unpowered (via radial menu) but the generator never kicks in.

I can't get the Turbines to actually work.. I'm on SE, the normal Turbines work, but the S+ Turbines won't...

hi. i am just making my first steps with the internal wiring method and was curious if the internal wiring, which is put into ceiling and walls is
a) also conenctible with normal wires (which i have still a bunch laying around ^^
b) if that also works for the XL/L-walls, ramps as those i plan to use quite a bit
c) if also glass or only metal can be internally wired?

a) don't know, never tried. Maybe trough a connection box
b) afair: XL/L walls couldn't be wired
c) afair: even thatch could be wired

Yes you can connect normal wires to them.

No they won't snap to L & XL walls, however if you remove the wall and run a normal wire up and then replace the wall it will be pretty much hidden anyway (or of course you could just manually hide them)

Any material of foundations and walls can be wired (it doesn't actually place wires inside, it just places basically a cross section wire without a mesh that has snap points to snap it to walls and floors)

you can also hide all wires/pipes so its no big deal laying them across some room.
