Ark on pc with Xbox controller

Is there a setting inside of the game that allows me to just change it to Xbox controls? I could only change what a button does and it wasn't cooperating. It still wanted my keyboard to do the controls but my controller could move me.

I use an xbox controller to play ark on PC and would have a hard time playng without it.. I refused to fly until I started using my controller.. but.. I dont have an answer for you since I have never tried to change the settings.. I just started using it like it was and am used to it.. sorry I cannot help :-(

Unfortunately they still havent added the xbox controls. its good for controlling your dino and character, but inventory management isnt there yet. I only use a controller for long travels so I can sit back. But yeah im also waiting on this.

I use the DS4 app and I can play ark with a controller and keyboard at the same time. I use a ps4 controller but the app thinks its a xbox controller. dont see why that wouldn't work for you.

I felt the same way about not wanting to play with a keyboard, but once I did for a few hours i actually prefer it over the controller now.

I know this is old but considering you are asking and I have looked into it. Have you tried buying a chatpad for your Xbox controller then buy a useful app on steam called controller companion you should then be able to use the controller and the chat pad attached to it to do everything

Yeah, the engram & inventory menus will not scroll with the Xbox One controller. Nor will they scroll with a Steam controller. Makes it hard to play in the living room, or laying in bed.

I know it might of been fixed before I read this but using the right analog stick scrolls the windows for me on an Xbox One Controller.

I get cases of the menus not scrolling on my ps4 controller too, but the way I fix it is by restarting the game until it works.Annoying but worth it if you plan on playing for a few hours straight

I got a steam controller, it lets me use the controller aswell as my keyboard & mouse.
