Can't join non-dedicated server.

I've posted about this MULTIPLE times. Yet no response has actually fixed this issue.
I can try to contain more info in this thread.

So I litterally CAN NOT join my brothers server. It worked before the recent patch, but now it will not work.
I have tried with low memory, extremely low memory, and just normal. None will work.
My specs
Radeon RX 480 8GB VRAM
AMD Athlon X4 645 processor
6GB's RAM

Hosts specs
Nvidia GTX 980
16 GB's RAM
Dunno what his CPU is.

I can join other non-ded servers fine for some reason, but his just WILL NOT work. It loads, and then when it starts loading the map and all that, it freezes for 1 second, the goes back to main menu with "Lost/Timedout connection to host". I would really like to know how to fix this, and it seems like other people can join him easily.

Everybody, including the host has to launch the game with a launch command that is something like:

-nobattleye

"Lost/Timedout connection to host"

In my experience (I'm running a lan dedicated server, and I play with my son) this message comes when:

1. Somehow the version of the server and your client version is mismatching

2. When the server is using mods, and the MOD versions are mismatching (typical case: your server is running for long time, and since the last restart, one of the mod owners update his mod. The mod on your client is updated - because it auto updates when you start the game - but the server still have an older version of the mod....). Stop the server, try updating the mods so they are up to date...

3. The server is running a mod what you didn't subscribe on your client. Teorethically mods are subscribed automatically on the conecting cliens, but in my experience sometimes it just takes too much time and disconnect happen. Doublecheck if you are subscribed to all mods what you are using on the server.

So apparantly, after re-entering the -noBattlEye it works now. :)

I'm having the same problem I'm trying to play on my friends! I can play others just not his. He has no mods. If I can help please respond

I had this exact same problem. I looked all over trying to find a fix. I couldnt find one so I had to figure it out. And now I shall share this cure with the world.

In steam right click on the game. Go to properties. Then go to local files. once you are there, there will be a button that says "verify intergrity of files" click on that and wait for the verification to finish. Once that is done you will probably have files that need to be updated and it will tell you. Once you update the files go have fun and join a friends game!!

That wasn't your problem then. Two files with error is supposed to happen. It is probably a firewall/ anti malware problem blocking you.

Necro, this is from 2018 and there is now a launch option to launch without anticheat.

If anyone still struggles with this, then this is worth a try. It works for us if the host kills my player before i try to join. Then when im dead i join directly from steam, and i get in on the first try everytime - it's the only thing that works for us.
