Egg incubation Problems
notice: posting this late so i won't reply till the afternoon. Wasn't sure where to post so i decided to post in general discussions if it was a common problem.

I have been playing ark for the last 8 hours and have been reading all the faq and looking up guides, but i'm trying to figure out if what i'm running into is either a bug, or just the game acting up, or a common problem. I been running a dodo farm from lvl 10 to 42 so far and got a bunch of eggs. For some strange reason no matter what i do the egg health bar won't show up even when i'm holding the eggs themselves in the item menu ,and the eggs won't even show a incubation status bar either even when i drop them on the ground or near a fire or heat source nothing shows up.

I will take any advice anyone can give to me help figure out this egg problem, also this problem is happening in a single player world any help is thanked and much appeciated.

I think you might be trying to hatch regular eggs, not fertilised eggs.

How did you obtain the eggs? Did your Dodos just randomly lay them, or did you enable wandering to mate them?

See, mummy and daddy Dodo have to get jiggy and make fertilized eggs. Unfertilized eggs will never hatch. Basic Biology 101.

I read through the six posts and Mi your right i tried hatching unfertilized eggs and i was being stupid thinking this whole time i was hatching fertilized eggs. I left the birds with following disabled thinking i was breeding them right when i wasn't, and i obtained the unfertilized eggs that way. Tachyon's post gave me the hint that i was breeding the dodo's the wrong way. Bruce Taaren and Tombs thank's for the funny posts you both got me laughing a bit. :)

I thank you all yet again i think i know what i need to do now, I really need to get my get my biology right and get those dodo's in the wandering state and leave them in a pen now and the rest of everything else will go perfect.
