Is this game worth it?

I'm pretty bored of my games and I was thinking of picking this up. It's either this or gravity rush 2.

It's insanely fun some times, and others you will literally want to commit murder. There are some great times to be had and a LOT to do, very fun, but you'll also spend a lot of time simply dropping dead 5 times in 2 minutes, getting knocked out by some dinos and laying there for several minutes before death, etc. It's more frustrating than most games I've ever played (including DayZ, Rust) but also more fun.

If you don't like it after you buy it, refund it and buy that other game.

This game requires from you to spend a lot of hours. If you play solo, you can change a lot of things to adapt to your guess. If you play online you can choose between official server with normal rates that makes the game imposible to play alone. If you play online but unofficial servers you can find more and more content that make the game infinite. I have more than 1600 hours in this game. A gem. Give it a try now that the price is low. Be in mind; At first can be a lot frustrating to advance.

Lots of bugs, some can break your heart (if you are the type that gets attached to its pets etc). There is a lot of SPECULATION weather or not some of these will ever be fixed. It is just speculation, but who knows. What with how gamers are treated now adays.

The game is EXTREMLY un-optimized. Even some people with MASSIVE systems have problems (maybe ISP here). But you need a decent system, 3.5mhz, 16gigs ram, decent VC with as much Vram as you can afford, some folks say SSD for the game is handy too. Will it run on less, yes, but it goes down hill pretty fast.

I don't regret my purchase nor my time spent. I'd buy it again if I was doing it all over.

^This! Prepare to have something other than a laptop sporting a onboard gpu and have at minimum 16GB of RAM to play comfortably....or you will be struggling with Ugly.

Great game, lots of fun depending on what type of gameplay you like. PvP can be fun if your into superhardcore. Any "official" servers should be avoided if you dont understand the concept of hardcore PvP....save yourself the trouble and listen to the community on this one!

PvE can be fun if you plan to pour a ton of hours into the game as is the Single Player game, which I would play first to get you up to par on how the game works. Plenty of Mods to play with on SG.

Now for the bad part....the game is horrendously bugged, glitchy, unoptimised but is coming closer to the phase where it should be fixed.....IF, the devs stop implementing feature creep and only implement stuff that really forwards the game. Too many dinos with overlapping purposes is a mess and is starting to feel like Pokemon rather than ARK. Other useless fluff is your hair and beard grow out over time and can be cut with scissors....Im sure theres no system draining aspects to that dull worthless mechanic while more useful content sits on the backburner and has for some time. For the price, you cant beat it, that is, if you have a system strong enough to play it comfortably....otherwise, wait till its fully released to see if your rig can play it or not.

if you dont have an above average gaming rig or a rather large amount of free time I would say just pass on this game... things in teh game can take upwards of 10+hours real time and if you play online oyu have to sgin in daily to care for your dinos so they dont starve... the game isnt very well optimized and is a ram hog if you have under 16gb's f rame it will have frame stuttering it takes a powerful video card as well to run the game smoothly on medium-high settings...

I complain about this game all the time, but I've gotten 100x my money's worth out of the game in fun play time.
