I wondered this too, I had a pack of 3 wild tames (2x130 1 x150) that ate Deathworms I bred them once got 3 females with around 500 melee they scared the crap out of me bumped them to around 15k hp, they destroyed anything I sent them after including alpha rexes.
To answer the op, I'd have to agree with the Calicotherium, I've 5 in total they all have around 500 melee, 10k hp same scenario 3 of them were triplets from the wild pair I tamed they all do around 500 damage per rock, when they all attack at the same time it's beautiful. Fuzzy Artillery FTW.

I cheesed Megapithecus with a single Chalico by standing on the ledge and throwing rocks at it's face.
Megatherium might be viable for Broodmother if there were no 4x damage multiplier against it, but it would still struggle because the Brood can knock it back, whereas Rexes are unaffected.
Well, you are not supposed to use them for attacking... Not every dino is has to be good at attacking. Lystro's are kinda in the same boat, their only purposes are their eggs and the xp bonus they can give. And use them as powderkegs/walking fridges early on.
I didn't read the title of the poll and voted for the most useless dino. lol. Oh well. LOL
