If you have an underwater mount there's plenty underwater between cragg's island and the footpaw.

west coast where snow meets temperate zone. shallow bay has lots of clams.

Go to the Western shore. Go north until you see snow, but are not yet in snow. There is a large pond about 200 yards inland. Just north of there is a nice little spot. You can run along the edge of the water just north of the pond and farm pearls going wading in the water. Bring a flyer cuz you might need to flee for your life, but pretty safe overall.

There are two ways you can get pearls if you dont like the beaver dam method.

The first way is taking a flyer or any tame that can protect you vs rex/yutyranus up to the snow biome, on the west coast, and the western half of the north coast you will find pearls in the shallow water, around 18-45 is my favorite spot, some of the pearls you need to swim for but are still close to the top.

The second way is getting a water mount, around 50 12 on the west coast is a large numbers of pearls.

There is another way, but this is sorta pointless, hunt leaches, they drop pearls too.

Trilobites drop them too with a pick. I like to set trilobites to spawn 2x as often as vanilla.

If you're on singleplayer, get yourself a quick water mount. Google "Ark The Island Underwater Cave Locations."

Get yourself 4 foundations, 4 beds, and 4 smithys. Swim to the 4 nearest underwater caves and drop a foundation, bed, and smithy in each one. Spend some time teleporting to each bed so you can grab all the pearls (oil and crystal too while you're at it), then dump it in the smithy.

Once you know your smithys are getting full, jump on your water mount (preferably with a lot of weight) and cruise down to each cave to stock your main base up. Do this a couple times a day for like 4 days and you'll have enough pearls and oil to last a couple weeks in solo player.

Thank you.

Your answers bring a second question.

Is it a good idea to relocate my base in the north west, on the beach ? Near that place there are all resources: pearl, oil, crystal, metal, obsidian.

My favorite spot is just a little south of that where the river comes into the sea and the two waterfalls. walking distance to the pearls. Then you have the oil and crystal and metal in the snow. Just a hop skip and a jump from the volcano. Pretty much everything you need within a couple minutes distance.

"Since Patch v257, Anglers now harvest silica pearls with their bite attack"

snow area & angler fish = thousands pearls even on x1 gather rate in no time
(if no scuba use lazarus chowder)

How do u tame water animals ? Isn't it risky to venture into the water ?
Splićo Jul 4, 2017 @ 4:15am
i use frog & lazarus chowder for start, scuba & frog later
You can shoot crossbow while mounted on frog, no need to dismount. Frogs use no oxygen.
I removed eels for my SP game, perma-stun is not my idea of fun.
