It is stupid that thieving creatures take entire stacks
It's actually a better strategy to Split All so that a bird doesn't come by and smack you on the back of the head and eat all 100 of your narcotics in a second.

It's even funnier that a furry little critter can jump you and make off with an entire stack of 100 ingots. Considering that 2 ingots would weigh him down to immobility...

I got rid of both on my private dedicated server.

Eh I think it would be better if it took like 25% of the item, rounded down of course.

For example Let's say you got 100 mushrooms in your 0 slot
Well a pego would only take 25. Easy

If a scary death bird comes down and steals a meat out of a tame (I cri) then it only takes out 25%

For example if you carry 15 kibble to tame a certain dino then it only takes about 3.

Or it could be 25% of the stealing dino's weight. However I dunno the weight of the dino....

I think they are awesome. Many a times have I ran screaming after a couple of them because they took a great weapon or something.

Agreed, hate the thieving dinos. I've turned them all off ;)

a friend of mine lost several hundred shotgun shells then they glitched and he never got them back

I don't have a problem with them existing, I think the way the pego scampers off with the item in its hands is funny, I just don't like the mechanic as it stands currently.Especially if you get hit by a bunch in rapid succession, pop pop pop you lost a gun, a whole stack of narcos, and your dino egg.

i disagree

it's totally normal than a pego can carry 200kg of metal. it's 100% RP and well thought ! <3 Dev

Also most of the time they take what is in your 0 slot. So that is where I keep my food or say like a torch. Not that I let the thieving buggers live long.

The seagulls are the worst. As a new player on a server, I got mobbed by about 20 of them and was left only with the armour I was wearing. Everything else in my inventory was gone, metal tools, firearms, ammo and everything else. Needless to say, the next thing I used was the quit button, it had taken me ages to farm the mats near the beach to get that far so I could venture further inland with some degree of safety. Starting over again was not on my to-do list.

It's not like you can catch them, they fly off way out of reach and with no weapon, you can't just run after them and punch them to death.

Even worse is that they immediately "eat" whatever they just stole off you so you can't recover it even if you managed to kill them.

OK so you tame a bird....aim and push period....tada!

Dead.

But...But...But...

The problem is that they take from the last slot which is where you have to store kibble on a passive tame. I lost 30 titanboa kibble while trying to taming a 150 ape. Killed the pego but the kibble was gone. Worst implementation of a dino ever.

I keep getting told that the seagulls drop non-eddible things, but i have never gotten anything back that they have "dropped". I have even seen them nom, thats right eat, whole stacks of element. Can you imagine what horror an element infused seagull might mutate into!?

Yeah i have noticed this being kind of buggy. I don't know if the bird ate my metal pike or dropped it through the world before but sometimes I've had them take equipment and i get it back, other times its disolved never to be seen again, whether i kill the stupid thing or not.

Pegomastix are just as awful sometimes. Had one take a stack of 100 mushrooms from my inventory, ignoring the cooked meat i had in the last slot. I then spent dam near 10 minutes chasing it and hitting it with a pike a ridiculous amount of times before it finalky died. Those things are as strong as raptors. Glad to see them take a hp hit at least.
