It doesn't even show the crappy arrow anymore.
Freakin' BUMP.
I have the same problem. I just see the word "Me" in the midle of the map wherever I am in game.
The map has NEVER been right, The marker has always been off by a considerable amount, especially since Ragnarok was launched.
For me, the map has always shown both "Me" AND the pointer, and both have moved along the map as I moved along the map and stayed relatively near my actual position.
Only now, the "Me" is way wrong and the pointer no longer exists.
I would curse it at first too, but it would make a better game experience.
A majority of the servers I've played on, the map pin is disabled. I prefer that. Uncover the map with exploration, and then use it for reference with a GPS for hard coordinates.
Just as I was about to point out, the map pin isn't even a guaranteed thing. It's an option given to the server hosts (and single players), if they want to use it or keep it out and force you to use GPS.
There is GPS, yes. It's cool to use. It's neat and all. But there's also the option of using the pin.
Having an option doesn't make the game easier, better or worse -- your use of that option is what determines that for you.
Personally, I prefer to use the pointer and wish it was an arrow and not crappy thumbtack. I do however like to remove it and play the game with harder settings, sometimes, for a change in pace.
Regardless, this option is now BROKEN and that's the issue at hand here.
It's just too bad the developers won't notice or read this. :l
