Dimorph not attacking from shoulder
Tamed a 125 Dimorph to ride on my shoulder and offer another layer of PvP protection. She tamed out at 183. I set her to Neutral, picked her up, and went outside and punched a trike. The Dimorph just sat on my shoulder like a goon as I ran away from the trike.

What am I missing? Are they not supposed to attack from your shoulder when you get hit?

Only if within range from you. Shoulder dinos dont get off to attack.

If the Dimo is on your shoulder, it can only attack if you're standing right next to the target. If you want it to leave your shoulder to attack, you will need to double-tap "F" (or whatever binding you've set for "Access Animal Inventory" to.

The double-tap "F" will throw the bird off your shoulder, and then it can fly around and wreck stuff for you.

OK thanks guys. I was hoping it would defend me automatically.

I mean, it will...you just have to throw it at them like a lamp in a cheesy horror film.

That said, make sure you have it on follow if you plan to toss it so it come back to you when it's done eating. In addition to being on follow, also be prepared to whistle passive if it starts attacking birds. They like to fight in the air and end up flying upwards. If they fly up to far while fighting they may not be able to find you when they're done.
