Stay put wistle doesnt work
For some reason my "stay put" wistle (or U) does not work. Already tried rebooting and double checked if my settings were correct. What could this possibly be as its annoying as hell >.<

Anyone?

Did you maybe hit one of your number pad numbers, switching control groups? Try hitting 5 on the num pad, whistle, hit 5 agian and try again. See if maybe your sellected on a group instead of "all". Might check the dino too and make sure he isn't set to ignore group whistles. *shrug*

It was 3 dinos I had just tamed and never whistled at ;) but also a few that I already had; Quite frankly nothing responds to my whitles anymore... Only the "follow me" one works >.<

A lot of the whistles have stopped working properly. I can't get follow (one) to work and have to get out of range of all but the one I want and whistle follow (all) to make it follow me.

Whistle passive doesn't stop my dino's attacking stuff, they refuse to go passive until they've killed it or it kills them. I want to grab my mount and get out fast when there's too much for either of us to deal with, but no matter what I whistle, my mount is determined to end the combat one way or the other and it often results in me getting killed by something else and my mount getting overwhelmed and killed too.

TBH, if I get KO'd by a microraptor and manage to survive long enough to get up again, I run like hell to safety and leave the mount because there's no way to control it once it's in combat. If it survives, I'll go back and pick it up. Otherwise, it's a bit of a hike back home.

Hold H. If no green arrow appears over your target dino, you're in the wrong taming group.

what if you dont use tame groups ?

Im not using taming groups what so ever :) So that will definitly not be my issue. Had problems with my unfollow whistle in the past, every now and then it simply refused to work but a reboot fixed it. Now its simply not working at all no matter what I try.

accidentially you can hit "0" and change your whistle grp to 10

hit "0" a few times or go to options and clear whistle grps or taming grps

you can select on the numbad what whistle grp your dinos are

and if you haven't set a grp on the dino he will not hear you

this is only for grp whistles J U (default)

not single whistles like T Y (default)

good RTS mechanic

Even you never used a tame groups, if you select any of them in notepad is gonna change to an empty group then none animals are gonna respond to your whistle.

Best way is press Z, this is gonna set to all dinos, you should see a bunch of green markers indicating all dinos in range of your whistle.

I found that "you stay put" didn't work when not looking at them. Makes sense, but in battle can sometimes be hard to get cursor on them. Changed my quick key to "all stop" and find that works better for me.

So to getting things straight for me; its not the dinos that are being set in an other taming group (they all are in default) its just me being not longer in the default group? I thought the other people meant the dinos had changed group which made no sense as some were fresh tames ^^," The group thing was never too clear to me, found it too confusing XD.

Pressing zero however did fix te problem! Thank you for your help and especially the explanation of how to fix it ;)
