Text in game is just boxes?

I started playing in a unofficial ragnarok server and the chats text is all boxes (just square boxes, instead of letters) AND also the tribe name and tribe log are written as boxes D: How can i get rid of it? Like when my tribe mate is killled by some animal, i go to the tribe log and see "your tribe member was killed by (lots of boxes)" :o In chat something is in letters (i've talked to few people there) but mostly its boxes. And i know it might be some chinese or russian letters, but that doesnt explain the boxes when a wild trike killes my tribe mate and the tribe log only has boxes instead on a trike :o
Sorry, long question but still - does anyone know how to fix this? I donno/dont want to ♥♥♥♥ with any game folders etc. because i would just make it worse xD It always happens when i try to fix something

But the tribe log cant be in chinese letters :o It's in english but still has boxes

But the tribe log tells me what has happened in the tribe (game tells me) so they cant say anything there :o ♥♥♥♥ it's hard to look at the log because i cant see what stuff got destroyed for example when its all boxes :/

either you have the wrong localization or someone in your tribe changed their name to foreign characters.

If the text in chat is your standard english alphabet except the names of the other players and the names of the dinos are boxes... then those other players are using a different alphabet, such as Chinese, Russian, Korean, Arabic, etc. If you have ark set to english, their letters won't show in the english alphabet, so the game just shows boxes.

You have a bunch of players that don't want to be recognized, or you have players from other countries (with non-english alphabets) playing on your server.

But the dino droppings (poop i mean) are also all written in boxes. So there should be no foreign letters there. Names above dinos (Parasaur lvl 33" for example) are all good but just the droppings are boxed :o And in official server all text is good but only on this server it's boxes :o And none of my tribe has put the tribe name to some chinese/russian etc. name. Its supposed to be "Tribe of (name)" but its just boxes and then the name :o
So i'm 100% sure that its not foreign languages fault this time xD The chat i can understand because there is russian people, but the dino ♥♥♥♥♥ ? Why would it be in russian xD

I feel that when I see a tribe globally chatting and I see these OOOO boxes, it caused alot of lag too. Or is that just a false presumption?

Omg I just realized the whole official pvp server im on (EU) is full of chinese ppl. interesting. Thanks for the answers, I thought they were using some code or something - good to know its just different letters.
