I will openly admit im not quite meeting recommended spec for this game, taken that onboard in my mind. I would say its probably been doing this to me for about 2 months give or take a week. Was fine before though. Not even annoyed lol just want it to stop or happen less often. Everyone I have asked on my server, doesn't seem like it happens to anyone except me, typical eh :P
Its one of the bugs i described here (And wildcard simply doesn't care).
So help me bumping this thread:
https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/200917-a-few-bugs-which-needs-to-be-fixed-before-release/
No it isn't. While you have that freeze, the CPU utilization is about 30%.
Its simply bad program coding.
Like stated above... it already reported it on survivetheark.com... it only needs a few bumps by other players so wildcard can see it in the mass of all bugreport threads.
or dropping out meat stacks while flying and disconnect due to it, this is my usual :D

Can you drop your render distance to normal and tell me if its still happening?
(Also just a tip , sometimes it is wise to reinstall ark , because new updates will not fully implant , i reinstall it 1ns a month and everytime i do i realise it got way better and smoother then before i did)
Edit: just reminded myself i need to do this now cus of a weird useless texture bug (at my damn base for gods sake)
What would you define as a normal render distance? Can run on high but i tend to play on medium to net a couple of extra frames.
Already tried it bud
