2x Ark Account on 1 PC System - How does it work

Hey hey,

with the recent update to ark they introduced the new crafting mechanic in combination with the Change to mindwipe Tonic, i thought about using my 2nd steam account (who owns ark + SE) as a pure crafting character for blueprint stuff.

But now ive stumbled into a slight Problem.

After i changed the steam user and started ark, tried to connect to that particular Server (unofficial modded), it tells me that there is a mod mismatch and the Connection stops.

Are there any guides on how to connect to an ark Server with a 2nd steam account on 1 System?

I guess you have to install the mods for the second steam account also?

You can use one account and have two chars too. They are not allowed to be on the same server at the same time. But you can always transfer one away and download your second char ...

Before entering the server, make certain you are subscribed to all necessary mods through steam itself. Do this for both accounts. Then try entering with both accounts to see if this works.

Yeah, exactly to this is introduction of crafting skill (which is too strong to be ignored) and mindwipe nerf forcing players... nonsense.

One way is to create a collection from subscribed items on one account then subscribe to all with the other account.

yep, how to make money:

introduce a system where poeple have to buy a second crafting toon.

or you ignore the entire official servers andplay on a well and balance modded server.

Or you join a tribe where everyone can craft the food to respec once per level...

works like a charm.


the new crafting system is alright but not too powerful... though i dont like the randomness

Im ok with some RNG but it could have a range. Each point increases the minimum and maximum quality you can have.

IE 5 points 3-7% increase, 20 points 14-22% and go on.

So you know you can get at least x% increase with your points. It sucks put 20 points into a skill and have a chance of 2% increase.

you could just have a separate mule character on another server to do the crafting for you. No need for a separate account. Unless you want them on the same server.

The results of crafting skill has so much rng I don't find it worth putting points into with the mindwipe system they put in.

However, they did post they will put it back to unlimited mindwipe.
So crafting when needed isn't that big of an issue. I say that when I have a long standing character that can make dozens of mindwipe tonics when I want and tons of BPs to choose from.
