Xbox controls NOT WANTED

Hi,

I'm having an issue that is rather frustrating. I happen to see the xbox one controls on my screen when I play with a keyboard and a mouse. I don't see how to disable this. There is a disable in the escape menu, but it doesn't work if I click on it.

I use an xbox controller on other games, so it's installed on my pc (but not wired when I go in Ark). I tryed to wire it then unwire it just after while ingame, it doesn't work either. I did search for an answer but no one seems to have encountered this issue (I do apologize if I'm wrong).

Are you still able to do things with the keyboard and mouse normally?

yes, some things but not all. I can't buy engrams, for one. My character walks all the time without pressing q (as if an invisible controller was detected). I can't see items' descriptions or names. And all the selecting menu shows the xbox controls.

Thats, weird, I am not experiencing these issues, even though I have the xbox controller installed myself. Than again, I did not install an xbox one controller, but a 360 controller. Maybe thats the difference? Might try unistalling the controller?

I think the xbox controller driver is always on on Windows 10, so I can't disable it :(

I think everything would work if I could use "deactivate gamepad", but it goes back after 1/2 second when I press it. I can't restore default controls in the menu as it requires me to press "a" on the controller (even if I wire it it doesn't work).

As a matter of fact, even if I do wire an xbox controller it doesn't work at all.

Are you doing that while in game, or at the main menu?

In game, but I just tryed from the main menu and it's the same issue :( Can't press a to confirm

Hm...well, I can think of only one thing that can save you...and thats to uninstall and reinstall, not the best choice, but, I can't find the ini file to edit to change turn off the controller.

I did that yesterday, I already had this issue before the patch and it didn't fix it (made it worse actually). Thank you very much for your help althought it didn't work!

Wow...well, than, all thats left, is to send in a ticket. But, thats like playing the lottery with how fast they do things...

Your not alone. I wrote a thing in the bug section a month ago and another today. A couple of minor things got fixed with the controller but a couple of things got worse. The worst is the engram screen right now. It's popping us out of full screen mode basically. I play a duel style and hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Today, for some reason, I wasn't getting any tooltips on anything in my inventory or engram list. So, yeah, they really messed some stuff up today.

Well, I sure hope the next patch sees to this. I was hoping to play all night with a friend. I could play, attack, fire things, lvl up but couldn't buy engrams (which got refunded) so my lvl 75 couldn't even build a stone hatchet x) Well, it happens I guess! Those games take much time to balance and fixes often create more bugs than they get right

dude.....unplug the controller, or HIT ESCAPE....below the exit game button it say disable gamepad....I ve gotten that too, seeing the control pad button on my hotbar...easy fix
I have a xb controller as well and would start randomly vibrating when battleing big dinos so had to turn it off

He did unplug the controller, that didn't fix it.
