it appears they increased the base install size - i found this doing a 'clean' install
edit: the download itself shows only 20gb so who knows what it will end up - will post back
LOL. Ok that explains a lot ;) thx a lot.
Except it doesn't really explain why you just caught up to where I was ever since Rag came along.. hmmm
ark folder. hmmmmm.....
When Ark is preallocating space it uses the twice or thrice of the amount the patch needs,it may be 1gb to download for example, but that 1 gb will increase when it gets extracted, meaning more space.
With each update Ark does, more and more space is consumed. I started at 70GB of Free space after Ark and all the Official maps minus Ragnarok was installed.
Now 5 trillion patches later Plus Ragnarok,i am at 37GB of free space on my SSD.
I dread the day it tells me i have to go buy a bigger drive.
The base install is now 92gb with no mods or addon maps and even no saves (may even need a bit more for shader cache when i actually start the game - we will see. I have yet to even start the game.
I only play Single Player, so when Ark is 90 GB as a clean new install, it explains the additional 27 GB, so... We have to deal with it i guess. What a pity.
