Uh.. Where is my Ragnarok save?
First of all, great updates, Wildcard. I hope they work like you say they do.
Secondly, if you made sure to take your time to make sure things work right (like I have seen in some posts reciently), where is my Ragnarok save?
It doesn't look good, when you release a new, free map to everyone, give them time to play, and then erase their progress.. Was it because I stated in another post that the Ragnarok map (a map made by some normal person) runs far better (at least for me) than The Island map?

I didn't loose alot since I was building in the castle, (and for some reason the floors don't act like floors unless you put a foundation on top of the floor, then you can place your vaults, etc.)
I'm just wondering how you can say that you're taking your time to make sure everything "cooks" right when you delete an entire save from a new map... (I know, people are going to say "Well, it's still in EA noob". EA isn't something they can hide behind. They have done things that made me consider this isn't an EA game anymore.)
I'm just curious how that can happen.

Maybe just a rant, maybe something to think about. I don't know.

They moved the save game directory for single player
Ragnarok used to share the island sub folder, it now has its own, just move\copy the files and it should be all good

Did you move just the world save file or the player and tribe files too?

hmm, does this mean that they fixed their screwup of having the Ragnarok save in the same folder as The Island? That would great if that is the case. Luckily I constantly backup all of my saves just in case.

I haven't played yet, so I don't know what's going on yet.

yep, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal and move the ragnarok save files to a new (you create) folder named Ragnarok

Your save is still there, you just need to move it to another folder. Not sure exactly how you have your Steam library set up, but AirCaptain described how to get your game save data in the right location.

"Funnily" my raknarok character was loaded in the Island when I booted the island so my oldest Island character is now lost/destroyed. Maybe it's those LocalPlayer.arkprofile files that store the necessary data because those seem to be found in every map save folder.

So.. I guess I don't fully understand where we are supposed to have this new folder named Ragnarok? Does it go under ARK\ShooterGame\Saved? Doesn't go in the SavedArksLocal right? If anyone could help with where exactly to create this folder, I would very much appreciate it! :)

Also, what's the point of doing this when it says the folder is created when Ragnarok loads up first time after patch? Does this mean we try to load into our game, that might be messed up if we don't move the files first? Just a little confusing..

Just start up a game with the Rag map and then exit. That will create the folder for you. Then just delete the contents of that new folder and copy your Ragnarok data from SavedArksLocal to it.

@margalus, thanks for reply, I will try this! :)

Make sure you copy your LocalPlayer.arkprofile along with the Ragnarok files.

This is why they made the change - up till now, your ragnarok save was in the same folder as your island save, sharing the LocalPlayer.arkprofile. When you made a new character for ragnarok instead of just using your existing island character, you overwrote your old island character. It wasn't possible to have a different character on each map in single player, now it is.

Thanks again margalus, that worked for me! Just added my current char saved files to my Ark backup folder, then started game with Ragnarok load. It automatically created folder called RagnarokSavedArksLocal, in which to move the char files! Had to relearn all engrams, but at least I had my base, dinos, and character! :)

Does that mean i have lost Ragnorak character again as i have played the island recently too so its deleted Ragnoraks again before this patch??
