Pillars won't work as foundation and can't break rocks.
So I'm trying to build an add on to my base but there are 2 big unbreakable rocks where I wanted it. So I decided to build it on pillars and ceilings above the rocks, but now I can't build anymore because when I put a pillar into the rock it goes I'm fine but it doesn't count as a foundation because it's not in the actual ground??? Does anybody have so building tips to get around this?

Don think it has any relevance here....

To the OP: you migt try to place additional pillars by blindly aiming under the suspected position of the existing one, hoping it will snap to it downward.

Otherwise: I dont know how big is that rock (screenshot would be fine), but you might put the pillar right next to it, and if the area of the rock is just 2-3 foundations, the pillar will allow you placing ceilings above the rock. Put pillars on both sides of the rock, and it might be enough to build a terrace above that nasty thingie :)

sure it has relevance .. if he's in single player he can cheat fly then cheat ghost and go inside the rock and place pillars down to bedrock. If He's on official he cant.

Other option if not on official 😉 but on unofficial not sp, would be to use 'k' and see if you can place a further pillar lower in the rock
