Longer than what?

Like what takes the longest? Probably Bronto if you're looking for pure hours spent doing nothing. The total time spent for the tame? Giga's because of all the mats and such you need to grind to even attempt it.

If we're including preparation, the longest I've had to deal with is the Giant Squid. It involves taming other dinos that take a while to tame, then level up, then swim to the Giant Squid.

I haven't bothered with the squid yet. It's on the list of things to do, so I forgot about it. You're probably right about the prep being more than a Giga.

Hardest thing bout taming a giga is knocking it out once it's down it's not hard think the dunk is worst to ko than the giga but as for longest that's gotta be the rock golem without kibble

Rock elemental takes according to the survive the ark taming calculator 4 days 95 hours 43 minutes. Not sure huw that works... but that is the number I get for taming a 150 with stone.

Nearly 4k stone and 119:43:09 time according to wiki so would skip that tactic :)

Now sorry for reviving, but found this to be an interesting thread and question. Honestly, if we are going for preparation probably the phoenix, gotta wait for the heat things, gotta have flamethrowers on hand, need to find a phoenix, building a trap at the ashes which are tricky to find, etc.

Well, for rock elemental, you would need a hell lot of kibbles, but still it is well just under 1 hour for level 150 (before permanent 2x taming that just went live as time of writing).

Compare that to a theriz, it only requires 39 kibbles max but you will need a total of 2 hour and 13 minutes total, and a hell lot of of narc, in contrast to rock elemental that requires none if you use kibble. I was a noob and thought I should trie to tame theriz before trying rex. Managed to tame a low and high level using crops early on, but later I felt shocked when taming rex because it was much easier than theriz.

Feeding stone to tame rock elemental is meant to be something impossible I guess, not worth it even if you can be a zombie and stay up for 5 days straight.

I just wanna point out you replied to a thread in 2017. I doubt they can hear you that far back

Somebody may Google the question, and stumble upon this post, just like I did.

The longest time you can be taming is if you want a max level Equus or Unicorn and try to tame it with normal berries. It will take about 21 and a half hours, also it will not have 0% taming effectiveness at the end but 2% so you at least get one level for doing it. And I would really love to see them make this an achievement and have "Waste of Time" or "Hopeful Zoologist" as title, then there would finally be an achievement that requires actual dedication.
