industrial grinder and item crushing

i cant seem to crush my items in a players industrial grinder. i see the flint and thatch BPsbut cant crush my canteens or chainsaws. does it need to be your own to do that?

The usual way is to put in an item and add gas. Then turn grinder on. Click the item, then click on grind item. What part of this isn't working?

havent tryed it since the new UI, but maybe try the E key... put item inside grinder, click on it and press E (like u usually do to use items)

also does not work. anyway it was accidentally destroyed so cant try anything else

i got the same problem, i cant grind any item. only make flint anf thatch.

Yeah, Grinder has never been a good "alliance" item, you can access it if unlocked or pinned but the grinding just does not work unless your in the tribe.

Turn on grinder.
Tap item to grind
Click on new button that appears in center window.
Grind item.

Only thing i don't like about the grinder is it can only deliver 1 stack. I ground up an ascended platform saddle that should have tossed back something like 13k metal ingots... It gave me 100 -.-

Solution. Use a mod that includes a grinder. THere are standalone grinder mods for those
that do not want more broad encompasing mods .
