Scorched Earth Lore(SPOILERS)
So a large settlement worshipping one of the guardians is pretty much completly destroyed over night because of the obbies. Hel meets Raia after the events of the fall of Nosti. I believe so does Rockwell. None of the two manage to find any civilization for a while i think. Nosti falls somewhere before, John dies, and Raia tames Wyverns and becomes near god like.

Is the fall of Nosti because instead of evolving the people in the Ark were just settling and becoming stagnant? Instead of fighting the guardians they worshipped them as gods and were conforming to their small place on the island. So the aliens got pissed that the ark was not working and blew up the settlement forcing Raia to tame the Wyverns.

Also since there were two arks is SE the original ark?

If we do the conversions the ruins of nosti would have taken quite some time in Ark gamedays to make. With a good tribe of 20 or 30 it may take at least a month of game time. It may even be a year. Convert that to lore years and make it much more relastic maybe Nosti was there for like 30 years? Pissing off the aliens probabley. They expected prolly a holy war with the religion to further conflict leading to one sole ascendent but got a small city and relatively peaceful affairs.

Maybe SE was so hard for the inhabitants that fighting amongst each other was not very smart, hence settlement.

However on the Island, resources are slighty easier to obtain and war mongers were neccesary. Hence Nerva trying to fight everything and gain more power. In SE these artifacts were never used to start a war or gain more power. They were worshipped by Raia and her followers.

So is SE a failed Ark?

If that was the case, then why was Helena and Rockwell allowed to travel into it? Are there more Ark Stations. If so, Could the Arks themselves lead to the Alien homeworld? I think it would be kinda cool/make sense if the end game boss leads to the Aliens getting pissed again and trying to destroy your Ark and you have to defend it and take the fight to them with Tek Tier. Maybe your not supposed to ever leave, the ascension is just their to make you into the ultimate weapon, stronger than the guardians. Maybe after you ascend enough you figure out how to break or destroy one of the obbies which leads to a Ark Lockdown and you have to now escape your endless prision.

Wow the first time I've seen a thread actually going into the lore of the game. It's interesting to read, but i wish I knew more about the notes
What if Scorched Earth was actualy a tropical ark but before Raia came it was peaceful, so the aliens made it a desert to kill them off/make an apocalypse to force conflict, then realized they had a new experiment so they sent in more survivors!

I like this thread. Love the theory of "becoming stronger than the guardians"... this theory could easily be reinforced because the tekgrams screen says "earn these by proving you are an ultimate suvivor!". If they added a way to break the obelisks after ascending x times would be awesome.

Would be amazing if it turned out that Scorched Earth and The Island and future DLC's were in fact the same station but at different time periods after certain events. After all, the wyverns appeared on Scorched Earth once Nosti got civilized, no one had seen them before.... maybe the game is "evolving"? Also there was a Helena note that said Rockwell thought they travelled through time and space, that's what kinda inspired the whole "Same ARK, different time" that I just mentioned.

Idk about the ark being a different time, the landscape of the Ark is complelty different in SE compared to the island. If they are in different times or manipulation of space time it would explain teleporters. The ark could also be surrounded by a tesseract in that case. The ark is in 3D and outside the ark is a 4D field. It could explain why all the explorer notes are from different people at different times. Then whoever created the Arks surely use the Obbies to power all there creations. I would assume then element is a 4D localized meta molecule. It can't be used in different arks because then it would be delocalized and loss "Time energy". The obbies themselves seem to emit there own energy waves themselves as well as the gps can pick this up easily and superposition the fields. I would assume if an obbie broke it could release enough energy to destroy multiple portions of the island and possibly even damage the station we are on. They hold enough energy to level an entire city in seconds. Thats several hundred atom bombs of energy right there.

Grabbing the energy from multiple different times is one plausible way aliens could use to do this feat. Also If the aliens need something that can defeat giant spiders, dragons, and giant apes. Why do they need us to evolve? What could they possibly need as lifeform when there technology can level civilizations?
