What's the inventory for?

I believe toilets make instant fertilizer when you poop in them?

Maybe it's just to hold on the poop until you have time to clean it out? I've never built one, so I don't know anything about the latrines.

I think it is so the poop has a slot to hold it until the code loads it to become fertilizer

I don'5t have a toilet, but I would guess the inventory slots are to hold the fertilizer created until ready to be distributed to the plants.
Tribe members poop in the toilet all day long and it converts it to fertilizer and stores it...1 slot for each fertilizer. Then some poor slob pleb whose been assigned farmer duties comes along and cleans out the toilet.
