Why are the requirements so low, yet, the game is so demanding?
My computer easily passes the requirements, yet, I cant run the game with more than 20 fps on low settings, and I cant get a refund cause I got it off steam..

I thought refunds were no questions asked if under 2 hours played and 2 weeks owned? You should be able to get a refund just fine.

thats the MINIMUM requirements.

and with this you can play it on the MINIMUM nothing more

Because it's early access and you're rendering every single dinosaur on the map in real time, they're moving, killing and laying eggs and dying and spawning in real time. the entire map is rendered as well. which is cpu and gpu taxing. other games usually have everything de render when you're not looking or being close to the area.

that's my guess, i don't know.

Not every dino on the ark gets loaded, that´s false. Only those within your viewdistance, all the other one fall in stasis once outside your view-distance. As you move all the dinos, textures and so on get streamed in. Otherwise no pc in the world could handle this.
But anyway, this game is definitly demanding ;)

I am really not asking for anything more, but I don't think 20 fps is considered playing anymore, also, as I said, my computer surpasses the requirements, someone that is exactly on the requirement wont be able to run even that.

My point is, it shouldn't matter how the game runs for you - if you have less than 2 hours ingame time, and have owned the game for less than 2 weeks, refunding should be a formality. It should be approved without question. And even then, finding the game doesn't perform as expected on your current hardware is a valid reason for a refund. It should be a non-issue for you to get your money back in this case.

with the minimum requirements you can start the game and play on the lowest possible setting and resolution.

for more you need more

recommended is at least a quad-core CPU (I5/R5) with more than 3GHz, 16gb RAM and a R9 380 or GTX 960 (medium settings at 1080p)

Ah, yes, now I see, that makes sense. That is an unfortunate pickle to be in.

Since you're stuck with the game then, I hope upcoming optimizations or maybe future hardware upgrades will make it worthwhile for you.
For whatever it's worth, two links I like to paste around for general FPS help:
General settings[survivetheark.com]
Launch parameters

Perhaps OP .. Just perhaps .. if you actualy posted your pc specs .. someone might tell you why you are only getting 20 fps.

put it this way ... i run at a pretty stable 45 fps .... now to get that on my rig i need to run at 720p ... i5 5600/16g ddr4/GTX760 4g ... if/when i get my new card (probably gtx 1070) i should be able to get 45 fps at 1080. So ...

Whats your (Easily passes the requirements) specs?

Minimum only means its gonna boot , it doesnt mean its gonna be pretty or decently playable (thats what reccomended ones are) and even those arent for epic 60 fps (read the f.a.q. from WC they explain to u, build as mean as a rig u want to pump out more fps)
