Dedicated server

When i create a dedicated server in the menu, the game is closed and its opened a console, but i cant play i mean the game doesnt open again, how this works¿ i only want a server to p`lay with a few friends

On ASM click start server, check the cmd window until it says core numbers. Only then the server is up, ingame set filter for lan

i know but if i want a friend to join?

Then you give him your ip and on steam he clicks view, servers and add your ip to the favorites. Open ark, set filter ingame to favorites

Edit: for some reaso most ppl add the ip and it works, for some they need to add ip:port like 200.200.200.200:7777

If the server is running, when they add ip it'll show server name there, so they know its working.

I opened 2 ports but my friend cant connect , says "server is not responding"

be sure your router has port forwarding enabled and you forward the Ark ports to your computer running the server. Also check windows firewall or whatever you use for antivirus since those have firewalls as well. You'll need to enable the port in all firewalls that you have.

Thats ark. google for it.. many people have this problem. In my case i did everything right and it is not working.
What was a quick solution with a friend he host a ubuntu server via virtualbox. Seems the linux server is running better then the windows one.
The windows "solution" was to make a vpn between every client and make a "local" game.. but i think that's some high lvl stuff. ^^

Ihave done all, i opened the ports, i added the rules to the firewall, but nothing
still not responding

RTG - If your still having issues and friend me. I can open a remote session and look at your settings and probably save you hours or troubleshooting being able to see it.
