the door should face the way its frame is build, for stone door it shouldnt make a difference since they pretty much look the same from both sides
for wood doors the plank side should be on the plank side of the frame and the log side on the log side of the frame.....
the frame should swap the direction its build in with the Q key, so doors build in it should also face the opposite direction
....
fence foundations have also a front direction... when you build a wall and use fence foundations, it can be that you accidently build the foundations alternating (as in, one foundation looks forward and the next one backwards)
if you did so, you cant line up the walls perfectly, but with Q you should still be able to make them look in the same direction, just with em sticking out by a wall width
if you want to avoid that, you have to demolish the wrong fence foundations and rebuild them
That said, you actually really don't want to use it when you're building. When you flip walls/doorframes/etc, and then place them, they will be misaligned. This is eventually even more aggravating, especially if you're building large structures.
If you're playing single player, I ~strongly~ recommend this mod.

It doesn't add any extra engrams or exploited structures, it simply allows you to pick structures back up without the need to demolish them. This is extremely useful while still learning the intricacies of the building system, learning to wiggle the camera to just the right angle to make fences snap to the right places, walls to the right foundation, etc.
its E not Q XD
E to flip
Q to change snap point...
sry I forgot that we are talking about Q and not E XD
