Dedicated Server Joining Issue. *SOLVED*
So my buddy and I have been playing on my dedicated server that I have been hosting just fine for the past week or so, but last night he finally bought the Scorched Earth DLC so we could play on that map together. So he gets off the server to buy the DLC while I shut the server down to change the map to Scorched Earth. Nothing else was changed, and this all occured within 20 minutes or so.

I can connect to the server just fine, although its through LAN, but he can no longer see nor connect to the server, even through direct connection.

https://arkservers.net/server/71.55.31.207:27015

Any help with this would be appreciated. I am using the Ark Server Manager program to host.

*EDIT* A WORKING METHOD HAS BEEN FOUND

So he brought the DLC, but was the DLC installed correctly? Can he connect to any Scorched Earth Official server?

He was able to launch the Scorched Earth map in singleplayer mode just fine, but I have not tried to get him to connect to another server, although he has stated he can see them. Will coax him to try it now.

*EDIT* He joined a server running Scorched Earth just fine.

Could be due to it being LAN?

If you are hosting the dedicated server on the same machine you are playing from it always shows up in LAN.

Did you check if your WAN IP is still the same. Cause there clearly is no server under 71.55.31.207:27015

edit: if you use the ASM for managing, there is a Status Line in the First Section :
Status: Running / Availability: Available or Waiting for Publishing

if it's waiting for publishing the Port forwarding on the Router might be messed up.

My WAN IP is still 71.55.31.207. Verified through my router and just typing 'what is my WAN IP' into google. As for the port of 27015, that is the query port and not the hosting port I am using, which is 7777 by default.

ASM says running AND available, like I mentioned in my original posting, I can connect to it perfectly fine.

do you have anyone else that can try connecting? it may be only letting you connect because you are hosting on the same machine as you are playing.

Nah, 7777 is the Server Port, 27015 is the Queryport to connect.
Just check it for yourself by opening the Steam Client and go to View > Servers > Favorites > Add Server > Type in your WAN.IP:27015 > Find Games at this adress.

uhm Server is up now, did you restart the server a few minutes ago ?

I brought it down and removed the password to see if anyone else could join thats willing to give it a try.

And I can't use this method because it just gives me my local IP address for the server, because its being hosted on the same machine : \

That is why I was using this site to check and see if its even seeable:

tell your friend to do that:
opening the Steam Client and go to View > Servers > Favorites > Add Server > Type in 71.55.31.207:27015 > Find Games at this adress, when the servers shows > Add Server to Favorites.
Start Ark > Join > Select Favorites in the Drop down box in the lower left corner > enjoy the DLC ;-)

Thanks for this Swift. I'll have my friend try the same method you did when he gets back on.

Seems this will be the working method, as someone used this way to connect. For some reason the server is just not correctly linking with the Steam Server stuff. Thank you guys for all your help. I'll edit post with this fix at the top when my friend comes back around in about 45 minutes if it works for him so others can get this info.

You only have the two ports open 7777 and 20715
I find enabling Raw Sockets, (and opening port 7778 as well) makes connects easier (without the need to add it to the steam server list) but Raw Sockets can cause issues
