Ark unicorn

Today i was playing and i came across a unicorn. I tried to tame it with carrots but i didn't know what to do. ( I pressed 0 to feed him instead of e) Then he ran away and got chases by raptors and i tried killing them with a rex but i accidently killed unicorn.
What is the chance of finding the unicorn??
It's the first equus i found and it was a unicorn so i wonder how rare it is.

it's extremely rare since there's only one on the map at a time (unless you spawn them in)

Once tamed, another wild one will spawn.

Also Unicors only mate with other unicorns.. so having a male and female would populate a fairy farm.

The server only spawns 1 at a time, very lucky. It took me several goes just to get my Equus. I've yet to see the unicorn on a live server

It's been said by devs that once a Unicorn is tamed, no more should spawn though you can transfer it out and get another on that server.

its like Slum-n-It say:

When I found my unicorn (conveniently within sight of my house) I had to save it from some raptors by picking them up with my argy and dropping them into the swamp.

Are unicorns speical in any way or just a cosmetic change?

For a creature where only 1 exists at a time i'd expect something like unlimited stanima or no meat eater agression you know to make it worth the hunt.

Just that it's a different model. No special abilities from a regular Equus.
