weapons without any quality like spear and rocket launcher dont display the weapon damage at all
the only point of the percentage is to compare it with better ones of the same kind (as in you can find acendant quality pikes with 200+% weapon damage)
if you want to see how much damage your weapon deals, you can build a training dummy and hit it :) (it displays the damage)
The % is to compare the same weapons but different quality.

This will get you base dmg, calculating overall melee dmg will use this as a baseline
raw weapon damage + player base damage + bonuses + ammo equiped + etc = total damage with said weapon
give us a raw number to work with at least
