metal nodes NEVER respawn when you move out to a certain distance and move back into visual range. they are on a spawn timer. if you collect all the metal in a node, it takes time for that node to respawn.
and if a metal node is on a respawn timer, it doesnt matter whether you are within or out of its render range, it'll reappear when its timer is up.
essentially, there is a hidden value you cant see, its the respawn timer for resources when the parameter is set to the default which is 1.0.
values > 1.0 make them take longer to respawn, values < 1.0 make them take less time to respawn.
Where things do not respawn as long as you are within X distance. hence why they say move out of range, it prevents pop in of dinos/resources
again, the actual value is hidden, and its a multiplier. default is 1.0 for X distance. values > 1 increase respawn distance, < 1 decrease respawn distance.
Anyone know how to find out what the actual time is per setting?
metal will respawn regardless if player is in the area or not so long as the metal is at least 9 ceilings/foundations away from a blocker structure (ceiling/foundation/fence foundation). Dinos standing on top of a respawn point can also block respawn (and can result in loss of dino as well).
