I use the command line -ForceRespawnDinos after updating the server. So, the unicorn was a fresh spawn.
Coords 78.5, 35.
It headed west after I left it alone.
Hmm, can anybode confirm any of these?
From my experience - I killed ~50-60 horses in last two days trying to free space for Unicorns, but had no luck. Not sure if there's a point to continue looking for one or not.
If people are still finding them after one is already tamed then I suppose there's a little flaw in how they're supposed to work. I posted a tweet that was from Jen, an Ark Dev, that said tamed ones count towards the 1 limit.
But I've been seeing multiple people say they've found some even after one has been tamed. It might be supposed to work with only 1 per map but something messed up?
But I'm not completely sure, I've only ever seen one, which is the one I've tamed.
We looked everywhere, killed all spawned horses again and again. There's no unicorn spawning.
Well according to the Squatty Potty commercial you can get rainbow icecream out of their rearend and feed it to childrem for a really fun time.

Got mine on Herb Island, was stuck between 3 rocks. Aint seen another since.
In this video some guy says that he spent 6+ hours looking for one. After killing the tamed one he quickly found another unicorn.

Everything confirms what Jen said, tamed or wild it counts toward the server cap. Titanos work the same way by the way. I haven't seen a single proof of the opposite.
