Not really, I mean it would be hard to get but think of it as something for you and/or your tribe to work for.
yea now that the "base" mechanics for underwater bases have been added into the live game im sure we will see tons of mods popping up that give us more options
Although that dose sound rahter silly... I can still see that being a mod for those just unable to get tek teir.
Think there is some for it already actually.
I think that i already a mod, though I don't have it because console commands already exist. (If' im going to cheat to get it early I might as well get it frm the get go)
And for a drawback for metal it that you need pipes to the surface and a generator pump or something to keep the water out and fresh air in with the switching out filters on regular time. Meaning double resource cost to run.
Metal tier should be all that is required but maybe it takes paint to protect it (look.. a real reason to make dyes other than just appearance) and tek level req'd to make underwater transparent parts and airlock.
Perhaps metal bases would also have a depth limit where Tek wouldn't.
Heh.. How about plant farms in underwater bases.. There.. Oxy generator
