Pike vs sword damage
I'm not complaining or anything, but why does a two handed weapon do less damage than a one handed weapon? I there some hidden mechanic that makes the pike better in some situations than a sword besides reach? And that still doesn't answer the question of why it does less damage.

beacuse with a pike your only hitting one spot cus with a pike you jab at your target and that where the damage is done but with a sword your hitting more the one spot cus of the swing that the sword has they why a sword dose more then a pike

-Pike is a lot more durable, has better range, and does knockback to smaller opponents.
-Sword does more damage and swings faster.
-Sickle (something you didn't mention) is essentially a weaker Sword, but does more DPS than the Pike.

Logically, the Pike should be better against Flak armor and higher. Though I personally want a hammer for that job instead.

Thanks, that clears things up. And I forgot how much damage the sickle does.

No problem, I recently decided to forgo my usual movement speed heavy build for a melee heavy build. Honestly nothing is more satisfying than one-tapping Raptors with a melee weapon when they rush me.

a sword can both thrust and slash, and sever your head.. a spear/pike would only puncture and crush bones, it would make sense that the sword was deadlier, hence why the sword replaced pikes, untill halberds.
