I'll edit this with another tip: Make a crossbow/grappling hook if you can. Have the shooter dangle a bit, you'll drastically reduce the amount of darts you send up your bird's tailfeathers.
I would love to use one but I can't fricken find them, they are super rare on the center or something.
Oh I meant the tapejara, Rex are easy to find.
Good luck!
Can you grappling hook into wild dinos?
Actually acheieved my first solo quetz tame doing it this way last night was a lot of fun but the panic mode set in once it fell near some sabers, don't think i've ever slammed the left mouse button so hard before like it was going to reel me in quicker or something lol.
Not that I know of, no. But you can attach yourself to a tree or a cliff wall and do it, if you're quick with the e-button ;) or if you have a friend they can pilot the tapejara and you can be in the front of back seat.
my first solo quetz get eaten by swarm of 6-7 terror birds and a carno (redwood) before i managed to get to him...lesson learned :)
