Greenhouse Walls and Water
I just built a nice little house on the beach, with the sea spread out in front, so to capture the view I decided to build the seaside wall out of greenhouse walls ... but, instead of an ocean all I see is a dried up valley ... anyone know why?

You mean the reflection in the walls? or the view through the glass?

The view through the window ... I can see the sharks a swimming but the water is totally gone.

I get this too for some reason. The waters not visible when looking through greenhouse pieces, just see straight to the bed. Annoying when you've built with a view in mind.

Do you have Post Processing set to low or are you using any of the Direct X 10 switches? Post processing is what takes care of all those effects like the wavy underwater effect or looking through glass. Looking through glass is extremely un-optimized right now and can literally kill a PC's FPS.

If you are running your own server or playing single player, I suggest Structure Plus Mod. That mod has it's own glass walls that can be 100% transparent so it will not be effected by post processing being turned down.

Hi, myself I run full epic so don't think it's because of a low setting and don't think I'm using any different versions of directX that I know of. I did recently upgrade gpu and I'm sure it wasn't doing it before then as only just recently noticed it and have played since launch. It's a strange one.

S+ is awesome I'm just not keen on how there's duplicates for so many items, feels messy specially just to fix the glass but that's just me I know how popular it is.

Everything is medium to epic using NVIDIA Direct X10. I'll look into S+ but wanted to stay as vanilla as possible.

I switch to S+ greenhouse glass, but got the same results. I'm thinking it has something to do with the glass color canceling out the the water's color because I still see the water's ripple effect in the glass.:steamsad:

yeah that happens to me as well i think its the glass having the same shade of blue as the water. they cancel each other out, so all u see is normal ground

It's funny you mention this as the same thing is occuring to me after updating my ark server to .55 I thought it was just me as my other server patrons didn't have that issue. I built a seaside observation deck and now it's all arid landscape
