I can't figure out baby dinosaurs.
I had a sabertooth Lvl 10 with 11 weight, and 11 pounds of meat on him. It died. The same thing happened with a dodo. I can't find anything relating to a few hour old dino, almost to juvenile stage, dying of unknown causes, so if someone could help me that would be great. Sorry if this has already been answered, and thank you for your time.

They may have to be force fed

When? He was eating every tick, and his hunger and health was going up.

Did you make sure that you put food in their inventory constantly until Juvanile stage? Once they reach that point they can eat from troughs, otherwise they go through food like nothing you have ever seen.

I was in its invintory when it died, and it was full on food (as much as his weight allowed at least)

Unoffical server with or without mods or an official server?

Friends private server with no mods and everything except exp multiplier set to default.

Was the food going up continuosly or did you notice it going to 0 then refilling again? I have seen with random babies of multiple species, both modded and vanilla animals, where this occurs. Had three that died because they lost too much hp every time food went to 0 and they starved a little each time. Never seen a baby just up and die suddenly with full food and hp however.

Yes. I left one or two times to get more food, but the complete rest of the time I was in its inventory.

I had this happen a few times. My personal theory is when there levels are so low they have like no hp so they don't have enough health backup to even make up for the loss. Those low level babies don't work right with this game.

I had this happen with an Oviraptor, it had full health and food and all of a sudden it just died, got out of it's inventory to check on my BF's baby Raptor and then I turned around and it died WITH food in it's inventory, would like to know what's going on with this. I was on a server with 2x taming and I think it has a bit of an enhanced breeding mechanic, but I'm not quite sure. I've heard that you literally have to force feed them and can't leave their inventory for even a second, that they won't eat food that's in their inventory due to a bug that hasn't been fixed, but I haven't gotten a clear answer on this.

Sadly, I think you may be right.

It could very well be a glitch but also keep in mind just in case,
Dinos won't eat until their hunger is equal to how much the good gives.
So if something gives 5 points of food upon consumption, they won't eat until they are 5 points down I hunger.
