The Thylacoleo is cat/marsupial
for all you people getting triggered over people calling the thyla a cat, I agree it's REAL life version is a marsupial but ARK'S creatures are different species so Ark's version could be a cat/marsupial hybrid remeber ark's creature aren't the same as the real life versions

if people can't tell the difference between a marsupial and a cat they definately can't tell the difference between a wyvern and a dragon. However, i still blame Bethesda for calling wyverns dragons.
personally I'd like to think wyverns are a cousin of dragons :P

That simply depends on the setting. Wyverns are a type of Dragon, just as the typical Western Dragon with four legs and a pair of wings is a type of Dragon and just as the Eastern Dragon (mostly without any Wings and 2+ pairs of legs) is a type of Dragon.

As for the original topic:
The real life animal was called marsupial lion, and normal lions tend to be cats.
I don't see any reason to get triggered over calling it a cat, especially since the nickname is not that far off (in a semantic way, not a biological one).
I call it Taz

It's a marsupial that looks feline.
How is this a debate?

The best part is, they're actually from Australia.

+1
The dossier calls it a marsupial, so you're hybrid argument falls short

The word thylacoleo literally translates as 'pouch lion'. So, I mean, like, marsupial with feline properties, it's literally right there in the name.
