I have this problem also. Find the temporary fix here: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/17152-failed-to-install-map-mod/

The problem is, it keeps recurring. The fix lasts a few days then one of the mod maps will fail to load and you have to go through the entire process. This has been a problem for quite some time. May be connected to ASUS Computers?

So do I , this game is very unstable to do that

check that all the mods for that server are still in the workshop. If they are, bring up task manager and go to details tab. Look for IGFX. End any tasks that start with IGFX.

If a mod is removed from the workshop this will hapen. It can also hapen from Something related to intel graphics chips. On laptops they often pair an intel graphics chip to run windows and a dedicated card to run games. Asus does this, as well as Dell. Hope this helps.

The Mod Map error occurs when Steam loses track of which mods you have installed, and Steam, the client, and the server disagree on what's installed, what's downloaded and what's updated.

There is no need to unsub/resub or delete your mod folder or whatnot, the only thing you need to delete is Steam's cache of downloaded mods, and most importantly, Steam's file that tracks what you have.

Quit Steam, then:

steamapps/workshop/content/346110
steamapps/workshop/appworkshop_346110.acf

Delete that directory and that file.

If you want to make sure everything gets freshly installed, also delete all the files in:
steamapps/common/ARK/ShooterGame/Content/Mods except for 11111111 (Primitive+), and the DLC maps (Ragnarok and TheCenter), since these can be fixed by doing a verify.

Start Steam, wait for it to download all the workshop content again, start ARK, and if you've deleted the Mods folders, wait for the client to install the mods.

Necromancer's strike again

I just keep repeating it :) And it's from March, so that's not even terrible. Googlemancer is more the problem.

I believe I am yet again out of date on popular netspeak. As such I have no idea what the "Necromancers" thing is about. My daughters laptop has this problem once a week atleast and its the intel graphics card software. I don't even have to exit ark to fix it. Just task manager, kill the igfxEM module, tab back to ark and it will load. When this is the issue you can't delete any files in your workshop folder, which means no other solution will work. I originally thought disabling the intel card would fix it but the touch screen is run by the intel card and disabling it disables all mice in ark. no where else. just ark. As i understand it, it is the energy management module for the intel card that is causing the problem. I keep hoping for a permanent fix for this, but intel doesn't seem to care.

Just found this works for me. I hope it works for others;

when the "failed to load mod map" message comes up, open task manager and end the process, IGFXCUIService. then rejoin your server and the mod map should load. Hope this helps.

Not just Asus. My MSI is now having the problem as well.

Tyanntx, don't yell at them or it will continue to be necro'd ROFL. I am having this problem with Win 7... I can't seem to figure it out for the life of me. verifying the game 10-20 times a day is VERY irritating... I mean I don't have the best net so it takes an hour to verify and re-download the mods and unverified files. I would like to find a permanent solution you know?
