The map limit in the game engine is almost at the limits with the center. The island is not that much smaller. Other custom maps are 'larger' but they do most of that by just making the 'blocks' bigger. So you get more space, but less items IN that space.

Wonder which unofficial map becomes the next real map. Was using the volcano as my 4th server but it was not one of the maps that 'won' the 4k per month, so might have a look at the others

Volcano map gets a big thumbs up from me. Big, beautiful, balanced spawns, desert area with some scorched earth dinos, caves, adolescent birds in nests. Lots of great stuff.
