What's Better for Ark: SSD or HDD

Hi.
I have a very fast ssd (samsung 850 evo) and now a very fast hdd as well (Toshiba x300 5TB).
I'm playing with a lot of Mods, some are huge and I am recording as well. Usualy it's easy to prefer the ssd but ark uses big files and thats were ssds get weaker compared to hdds. So I'm not sure if i should reinstall ark to my hdd

Does anyone have compared the speed?

That's like buying a 4x4 truck that you never use for hauling or offroad/bad weather. What you're saying is true about the read/white cycles but why buy an SSD if you not using it for speed?

I recommend to install ARK on a SSD. It's a night and day difference.

Uhm i'm using a Samsung SSD 850 Evo since April 2016 exclusively for Games, including ARK , in that time it now reaches 7TB written. The Samsung Tool still says Healthy, SSDLife Pro Tool estimates it Lifetime for another 9 Years..... any further questions?

Again, it's a myth that SSDs improve normal performance. It only makes it less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up when you hit 100% memory useage.

but i tell you, there is a high chance that your ssd will die sooner

i wasted a new 480 gb on that game, now i have sandisk and kingston 240

An old but interesting article. TL;DR is that 2 of the SSDs they tested made it past two PETAbytes of writing...

I'm not worried...and will continue to use an SSD with Ark for the insanely reduced loading times it provides. In 3 years I'll maybe have to drop 100 bucks on a new one... Whoop-de-doo.

An SSHD is functionally just an HDD that boots like an SSD.

Yeah i scratched my head at this. By the same logic you should never put your os on ssd.

......SSD read/write cycles are crazy high....NVME flash drive? dont limit yourself to USB speeds. SSD is far better for performance but cost should be your concern. If you have the space for your OS and ark on your SSD do it. Otherwise there ya go. SSHD are better permormance wise that HDD but recently ive noticed they fail wayy to often. Im in IT and our company had 3 of 5 new machines fail because of these drives. anyway up to you SSD is better for performance but if you cant fit your OS and ARK on the SSD then OS should go on SSD.
