Gigantopithecus is gone?
Where did they go to, they are extinct.
Did they get removed?

No, they're just rare.

Only really found in the Redwoods nowadays.

last I heard most of them were so elusive ever since Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet.. mainly they sit home and have viewing parties at home.

Mostly because of the mass number of new dinos added to the game they're very hard to find now. When o first played the game on Xbox in December 2015 they were absolutely EVERYWHERE but there's just so many dinos now that you never see them anymore. Saw one in the Redwoods on The Center yesterday and it was probably the first I'd seen in 2 months.

When the game just came out they were all over the south and center. Looks like therizinosaur took that slot.

Not to mention that Gigantopithecus was not in the game at release. Just a small irrelevant note.

In all seriousness you seem to be right, any Gigantopithecus spawns outside of the Redwoods don't seem to yield any currently.

Might be intentional, they were always meant to stick with the redwoods biome.
