Babies not eating
What's up with babies not eating? They have their favorite food in their inventory, they have a full trough nearby, and yet they randomly decide they won't eat. I must stand next to them 24/7 and watch their food drop - when they decide they don't want to eat, I have to force feed them just to keep them alive. They eat normally for a couple of minutes, then they stop and let their food drop down to 0 and die if I don't force feed them. Then they randomly start eating again, maybe. Noticed it with Argentavis and Ovis on vanilla SP.

we lost several jerboa babies and a lower level stego baby to this, in fact all of our babies have done it since the last patch, but the higher level ones have enough health starting out that they don't die in the time it takes them to start eating again, however, the delicate ones, like jerboas die faster than you can force feed them.

I thought u had to force feed them at start? before they learn to eat on their own

I lost a baby argent to the same thing... kind of sucked. His inventory was completely full of food too lol.

[LZ]Icy, you don't have to force feed them (at least you didn't have to before this stupid thing), but they only eat from their inventory until they reach 10% maturation progress.

If babies don't eat then send them to sleep and no toys for present

it is level dependant i noticed.. say lvl 300 pego baby..
stops eating when his food hits 1/4th
as soon as u remote feed it it starts eating again

I hope this gets fixed soon, its preventing me from breeding half of the babies i planned to :( super salty over spending 3 hours force feeding a blue mutation jerboa..only to have a disconnection have it die as i wasnt there to force feed :steamsad::steamsalty:

It's not only babies. Today had to force feed the giga, had plenty of meat but was not eating. After force feeding one raw meat it started eating on it's own.
Playing official PvE.

Yeah, This is really pissing me off. I got into ark because of the breeding, now- unless you are a serious gamer with no life- you can't breed. Last night I waited till my kids were asleep so I hatched a Dilo egg, my son woke up and wanted a drink, so I got up walked the kitchen (literally the next room) got him some milk sat down and my dilo was dead. I get their health up to 89%-90% and it drops to 15% Not to mention since we have full time jobs it's not like I can hatch a baby give it a bunch of food then go off to work. I have to sit for hours and feed it. I'm a working mom, that's not an option. Right now, as it is, breeding is useless.

In your specific case man, you should be playing on an unofficial server with drastically reduced egg hatching times, maturation times, etc. Like to where you can do a quetz in a day. You can't play this game at vanilla settings and have a full time job lol, trust me.

I tried to post this on the official forums, but screw making an account on there. What a headache.

Anyway this is somehow tied to health.

I have an ovis right now that was just born. Normal health is around 24.. food goes up to about 200.. sometimes though the health shoots up to 40-60 and stays there. While it stays there, the baby doesn't eat. I can force feed it..and when the health falls to 24 or so, it'll start eating..but I don't know what controls the health. it isn't food, because sometimes even with food at lik10 left, it was still up around 60

I'm getting the same thing, but with health as well. My dinos aren't healing only with the ones that are tamed or hatched. But if I force tame then it's all good and going normal.
