Best tips or advice for solo play
So, I've been playing ARK for about a week offline, and are trying to read the forums for tips and advice for moving to A friendly PvE server. I know that apparently the official servers are ruled by alpha tribes, so apparently it's best to play on unofficial servers. Really, I just want to play with a small group of people on the east coast of USA where I can simply enjoy the game. I don't really have a ton of time to babysit taming dinos for hours, but I don't want to be instakilled by beach Rexes in singleplayer XD. Any recommendations or simple advice?

run your own server. it's pretty easy to set it up.

the only friendly unofficial server is the one you or your friend controls.

Not sure if they still have the handcuff griefing thing in PVE, but I generally don't recommend PVE with people you don't know because a d-bag admin can come along at any time and decide you're done and ruin everything you have built.

Despite the fact its harder, I recommend pvp on official servers. At least there's no one that can abuse admin commands + at least you can get even. food for thought.

Unfortunately, I can't run my own server, as I don't have proper wifi where I live. I have to use a mobile hotspot mi-fi, and those things don't allow servers to be set up on them. Also, I don't have the CPU and GPU to host a server (ARK really does consume my CPU power, but I love this game and don't mind 45-30 fps at times, and mostly get 60fps solo). If you watch Neebs Gaming's Videos on ARK, THATS the kind of experience I want, but also turn up some values in the servers settings. (In fact, Neebs Gaming is the channel that made me want to buy ARK, and though I bought this game back in early 2015, I had yet to play it until a week ago, as when I bought it I only had a 400$ laptop, and now I have a 1100$ PC rig)

Join a zero mod ... raised multipliers pve server.... they do exist.

On these you dont need to worry about mod-mismatch issues... every thing in the game is vanilla but with raised multipliers you

A:harvest faster

B: level up faster

C: tame faster

D: breed faster.

Depending on how high the multipliers are (most go with x10 all) you can go as fast as you like. Some are even 100% vanilla.
