Troods are annoying but I like having sumthing to actually worry about, just move them a bit further inland and off my boat i'l be happy lol.
I'm breeding them for speed, health, and damage to put in between the walls of my base along with pegos.
I figure the last thing anybody wants to deal with after they breach the wall is a hoard of the little buggers knocking you out and running off with your things.

Assuming you get hit several times without realizing it, don't have fortitude, or a bola, or a nearby tame, or..
However the pike knock back with a bola and stims ought to be enough for any one troodon even then.
Point being everything in game is disposable, and if you really don't want to lose it don't use it. You can mitigate risks very early on, and there's a counter to literally every threat on the island.
