Graphics and FPS on HP Omen 2016
Hey guys, I just got a hp omen 2016,
its specs are:

Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ (2.8 GHz, up to 3.8 GHz, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

15.6" diagonal UHD IPS UWVA anti-glare WLED-backlit (3840 x 2160)

8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB)

1TB 7200 rpm SATA

In the game I currently have set
Resolution 2560x1080
Resolution scale - 100%
World Tile Buffers - Epic
View Distance - Epic
Anti-Aliasing - Low
Post-Processing - Epic
General Shadows - Low
Terrain Shadows - Low
Textures - Medium

I have extremely bad fps, around 2-12, sometimes for half a second or so it will spike to 18.
I don't understand why as this is a brand new computer and It should be able to run this. Also the game looks terrible on my computer and I was wondering if it was because I have a 3840x2160 screen, and which resolution should I choose, and which window selection should I select?

Sorry I am very new to this, and this would help me tremendously!!!!

well uh, is there any fix? And could you explain to me the problem of why the 4k screen and graphics card are clashing.

1050 is struggling to produce 4k video. Downgrade to 1080 and should be fine.

A GTX1050 does support the resolution for browsing, office, movies in 1080p, with luck even in 2160p but that's it. Gaming above 1080p might not be enjoyable, ARK at 1080 might result in ~10-15fps, Ark on higher Resolution simply is too much for the GPU.

edit: it does look ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cause the native resolution of the monitor is 3840x2160, you have to run ark on 1080p which means 1920x1080.
So simplified every pixel create would be quadruplet shown on the screen to fit the native resolution. It's a little more complex but that might be an overkill explanation ^^

Setting world tyle buffers to epic also causes low FPS. What it does is load parts of the world that is not loaded and saves it.
