ARK dedicated server requirements and tips?
I'm looking to host a dedicated server with my friends on the same computer i am playing on. We are in total 6 player that are going to play at the same time.

Do you first of know a cheap and trustworthy server hosting website and also will i be able to play at around 50-60 fps like i normally do?

Would love to get some help with this.
Thanks!

If you want to host for a few people AND play on the same PC at the same time you're going to need fairly decent hardware and a bit of system memory.

A lot of people use old laptops and stuff to host the server and it's not very demanding.

What are your Specs?
If you are hosting on your own computer, you don't need a server hosting site.

If you post your computer specs, we will be able to help you better.
A dedicated server do not use much resorces to run.
If you have a half decent computer they wont be much of a problem.
You need to have like 16 gig of ram to run it well with like 3-5 players.

Excuse me? 16GB for a server that has 3-5 Players, if you installed the Server files they will do it with 4-6GB

My specs are:
GTX 1060 6GB
16Gb RAM
3.4GHZ CPU
And i guess that is all you need to know.
I did what one of the other posters said. I used a laptop with 6 gb of ram as the dedicated server host. It worked good. I also used my machine (as a server and client) which is similar to yours in specs. Keep in mind, I only had 3 players on the servers (laptop and my machine).
Also, we have grown as a player base, so we decided to all pitch in and rent a server. The more players that join a dedicated server, the more RAM you will need.

Did it work good when you used your machine?
Yes. It did. But, like I said, I only had 3 players, including me.

Need to know what sort of 3.4GHz CPU you have. Is it like an 8 year old AMD CPU? Or is it a newer Intel i5 or i7? It sort of matters haha.

Having said that though you should be able to easily handle hosting and playing.
I have a I5 6500 3.2 GHZ not 3.4 mb
