Scorched Earth - Heat
Hey guys, i have some problems ...

1. I tried to build an air conditioner in my house (stone) and its still hot and nothing changes on the heat, do i need more than 1 ?

2. I made electriticity with a windmill, for some minutes i had electricity but then it turned off. The mill is still working but the cables are black now instead of yellow, what can be the reason?

thanks!!

Du brauchst ein Haus aus Adobe/Lehm, alles andere funktioniert nicht gegen die Hitze und wegen der Windmühle, du brauchst konstanten Wind von ich meine 60% aufwärts, drunter kommt nicht genug an........

Stone isn't good at insulating in scorched earth. Do yourself a favor and replace it with Adobe. Make desert cloth clothing, too. Go inside your house now, open your inventory and see what your HYPERTHERMAL insulation is. Then go OUTSIDE and check it there too. Stone/Wood turns into an oven.

And air conditioner doesnt work ? Not even if i build more than 1?

Propably AC works only with metal, and you will need an army of them. Better than adobe is tent or thatch, so you can build a little 1x1 of thatch inside stone. Better is just using adobe structures - they act like stone without heat but have less hp.

you would need like 8 in one spot to get a small area livable. and by small area I mean a 1x1.

just make an Adobe building.

To counter out the hyperthermal increase caused by a stone building you'd need at a guestimate 3 aircons per foundation...

Do yourself a favour and build out of adobe, it has the same durability and resistance of stone and protects you from the heat rather than roasting you alive.

First, try putting an ice cube in an oven heated to 400 degrees. That's an air conditioner in a stone box in the desert. Adobe lets the room breathe and doesn't kill you for standing in it, even if you have in inner lining of the stuff in an otherwise stone house.

Second, windmills work based on wind and only work however well they do when they are't exposed to a lightning storm. Those short out and destroy electronics. If you did experience lightning, just reset your windmill, otherwise look at it and check the wind rating in your area. It might be trash.

Stone is - 800 hyperthermal insulation.

AC provides +100 insulation if you stand right in front of it, less the faster you get away. it also has a very small range.

Use adobe...thats what its for.
If you really want, make a metal exterior wall with adobe inner walls.

Also press H and look for the % in top left, thats wind rating, turbine will only work that % of the time.
to get 100% wind and therefor power all the time you need to build in the outer desert.

Question about electric generators? Don't they work better than windmills?

Keep it with Adobe, tatch and wood are also not a verry good option, its kinda weak

find high lvl ghilli pieces and mix and match. put your fortitude at at least 30.

otherwise my advice is don't get hit.

Generators actually take damage over time and extra damage during a lightning storm, so... No.
